Explore the roots of humanity, returning to the raw and sacred forces that animate life.
I think of the original source, the first birth. Of the woman kind who has been creating life in her body since the beginning of time. Humanity is entirely contained within a hidden and mysterious matrix. Our first home is an invisible pocket shaped like a wineskin. We were fish in the dark water of a basin with warm and soft walls. We lived our first sensations there. We left a lasting but inaccessible memory of our slow creation.
Every birth renews the ancient miracle of this previous, secret, animal life which continues to beckon in our dreams, our readings.
Skin, tissue, texture.
The unborn child is there, at the heart of an archaic cave, peaceful in its desire to grow. Closer to my inner vision than an ultrasound image.
Silky fur. Raw colors. Wild stitching.
There is something in beauty that cannot be tamed. Perhaps something of the void or chaos that precedes it. All creation rears up and reveals, to those who will hear, its dark language.
